religious professionals, or layperson's in the
ecclesiastical disciplines.

ITS offers degrees in Theology, Biblical Studies, Christian Education, Pastoral Psychology and World Missions. These degrees are offered from Associates through the Doctorate in either Religious Philosophy or Ministry

* Associate Level Degrees - I.e. Associates of Ministry in Theology or Biblical Studies,   Pastoral Psychology, Christian Education or World Missions degree; (60                           credits)

* Bachelor Level Degrees -  (120 credits)

* Master Level Degrees - (50-page Thesis - 36 credits)

* Doctorate Level degrees -  (100-page Dissertation - 48 credits).

Up to 60 hours may be awarded for life experience and
previous ministry experience.  Special consideration and advanced standing is given to students with training or credits from Christ For the Nations, Rhema, Covenant Treasure, University of the Nations and other Schools of Ministry.  It is possible for an individual to graduate with a degree from ITS in as little as one year without ever having to relocate, leave your present place of employment or ministry.

Non-degree-granting Certificate Programs are offered to meet the needs of ministry candidates or the requirements of agencies with which they may be associated. Missionary candidates may meet the requirements of their sending agencies by taking a one-year program in Old Testament or New Testament Studies. Campus ministry candidates may find courses in Bible theology to be a helpful addition to training that may be given by their supporting agencies.

ITS does not license or ordain ministers.

Unlike degree programs, a high school diploma is not required to enroll in ITS certificate programs. Credits earned in the one-year certificate program may later be applied toward any Associate or Bachelor degree.

ITS's Certificate Programs are offered as:

* Certificate of Old Testament Studies (30 credits)

* Certificate of New Testament Studies (30 credits)

* Certificate in Pastoral Ministry (32 credits)

*Certificate in Christian Ministry (30 credits)

*Certificate in Global Missions (30 credits)

*Certificate in Pastoral Counseling (30 credits)

*Diploma in Any of the Above Certificate Programs (45 credits)

ITS Internet/Correspondence courses consist mostly of directed independent study, where the student simply takes courses without traveling to a physical classroom. Most of our courses involve you, the provided study guide, and a Bible with some other basic resources -- such as a Bible Dictionary and Bible Handbook. We also recommend several Bible software programs and theological library CD-ROMs that can be purchased in our online store or downloaded online for free. Completed assignments and tests are emailed in and graded by an ITS instructor. Students are encouraged to complete each course within 3-5 weeks.

The Bible is our textbook. The undergraduate studies are time-intensive and cannot be completed quickly. The idea is not to just "get it over with" but to allow the text to speak to you and equip you for ministry.

Our graduate programs are based on the European university model of "research degrees" which are mostly research-based, rather than course-based. The Masters and the Doctorate degrees are awarded on the basis of substantial original research: the MA has a prerequisite of a BA degree, and requires the student to write a 50-page thesis (as well as complete 36 credits in course work) on a topic within the scope of their degree. It must be agreed to by the student's Thesis Chair; and the Doctorate Degrees  have a prerequisite of a Masters degree, and requires the student to write a 100-page dissertation (as well as 48 credits in course work) on a topic within the scope of their degree.  It must be agreed to by the student's Dissertation Chair.
